Updated COVID-19 Guidelines from MDHHS

As you may have heard, the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services (MDHHS) has updated its mask-wearing requirements. Effective immediately, fully vaccinated individuals are not required to wear face masks indoors or outdoors. MDHHS is defining “fully vaccinated” as 14 days after the second dose of Pfizer or Moderna or 14 days after the single dose of Johnson & Johnson.

Further, masks are not required to be worn for any outdoor activity, whether you are a participant or spectator. For example, students and spectators participating in our outdoor Class of 2021 commencement will not be required to wear masks.

The weekly testing requirement for athletes remains in place, as do the outdoor spectator limits.

We appreciate your continued patience with us as we adapt to frequent changes to guidelines to health and safety guidelines. We sympathize with your desire to return to normal life but, as a large organization, it takes time to adjust.

As always, we will keep you updated with any future changes.
