As we communicated earlier today, the District has adopted new, less-restrictive guidelines from the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services (MDHHS) with regard to masking. Effective immediately, masks are no longer required to be worn by students or staff while outdoors – this includes participants and spectators at athletic events.
Masks will continue to be required for all students and staff while indoors, unless a record of vaccination is presented to the main office at your child’s school. For any vaccinated student who does not want to wear a mask indoors, a simple copy of their vaccination card, with date(s) of dose(s), will suffice. Until this record is submitted, your student will continue to be required to mask while indoors.
As a reminder, MDHHS defines “fully vaccinated” as 14 days after the second dose of Pfizer or Moderna or 14 days after the single dose of Johnson & Johnson. The same requirement applies to staff members as well.

Isnt it discrimination that my children who will NOT be vaccinated to have to continue wearing a mask and dealing with regular headaches and shortness of breath?
What happened to any type of Hippa rules? It is NOT anyones business if my children have had ANY vaccinations or not!

You can not require students to provide proof of Covid vaccination. Total violation of HIPPA. This can be a law suit. I do advise you to retract your letter, before this goes further.
This is bullshit that you would put this pressure on the kids to get vaccinated! What about the kids who already had covid? They already have the antibodies!
Wearing masks indoors should be up to the parents we should not have to give you a piece of paper in order to not mask our children this is a complete violation of privacy just end this nonsense now there is no science to back up masking at all
This is a MAJOR violation of our 4th amendment rights! You do not have the legal grounds to do this and should rescind this IMMEDIATELY.
