Get Tickets for Lapeer’s Most Fun Night of The Year!
Get ready to shake, rattle, and roll at a fantastic new fundraiser to benefit area youth! The Lapeer Community Scholarship and Student Loan Fund (LCSSLF) Committee is hosting the Fab ‘50s Fundraiser Saturday, February 27, 2016, at the Lapeer Country Club from 7-11 PM. This great fundraiser features outstanding entertainment: comedian and the night’s MC Mitch Gill, crooner TJ Craven, and local favorite band the Fairlanes and Devilles! Tickets are only $25 per person. Dress up in your favorite ‘50s costume and dance the night away! It promises to be one of the most fun evenings all year. The fact that it will provide loans and scholarships to our Lapeer High School students makes it even better. But hurry! Tickets are limited.
LCSSLF funds a variety of scholarships and low interest college loans to graduating Lapeer High School students. Visit lapeerloanfund.org to learn more. In order to increase its funds to further help local students, the Committee is hosting this rockin’ and rollin’ new fundraiser that promises to be the bees knees! This event is open to the public and can be found on Facebook (Lapeer Fab ‘50s Fundraiser) and the LHS website (lapeerschools.org). People can purchase tickets from any committee member: Pete Batistoni at downtown Lapeer Bank and Trust, Wendy Byard, Bob Dennany, Jerri Depuy, Doug Lindsay and Tim Zeeman at the Lapeer High School office, Adam Schlusler, Art Sieting at his CPA firm (Oesch and Sieting), Jen Taylor at Rolland Warner Middle School office, Murphy Elementary office, Matt Wandrie, and Sue Wilmers at the LCS Administration Building. For questions, contact Sue Wilmers at swilmers@lapeerschools.org and 810-441-1611.
Great entertainment is planned. Local crooner TJ Craven, a favorite at Lapeer Days, will perform. Craven was trained in opera, but wows crowds with songs by Frank Sinatra, Elvis, Dean Martin, and Nat King Cole, as well as country music. Craven performs all around the U.S. and has opened for groups and musicians like Craig Morgan, Wild Honey, Whiskey Falls and Clay Underwood, Sheldon Kay and the Juke Joint Johnnies, Kentucky Straight, and the Craig John Band. Also on tap is local favorite band the Fairlanes and Devilles that plays a great mix of ‘50s and ‘60s music. A mystery LCS administrator also will perform a song or two! So guests should don their old varsity jackets and poodles skirts and be ready to twist, jitterbug, swing, and bop! There will costume and dance contests as well as hula hoop and bubblegum contests, so get your Double Bubble ready! Local DJ and standup comic Mitch Gill will keep the fun rolling as the night’s MC.
Food includes coneys and sliders at “Mel’s Diner” and a cash bar. Other highlights of the night include raffles, contests, and a silent auction. The night promises to be coolsville, so buy your tickets now, Daddy-O! Support our students!
