The works of three of LCS students (Ella Coulter, 5thgrader at Mayfield, Landon Henderson, 2ndgrader at Schickler and Zakery Olejziczak, 2nd grader at Murphy) were selected for publication in Kaleidoscope, the annual student writing publication of the Michigan Reading Association.  Only one student could be nominated from a building, and so Ella, Landon, and Zakery represent the strongest writing pieces from their three buildings.

Their writing is featured in Kaleidoscope along with the work of nearly 100 other student writers, ranging from kindergarten through 12th grade, from across the state.

The writers were invited to a Young Author’s Luncheon on Sunday, March 16, at the Amway Grand Plaza in Grand Rapids. The students dined in a ballroom, heard a presentation from a published author, and received medals in a special ceremony.

Great job students!
