Do you like to listen to live music? If so, come on down to L.I.V.E located at 3056 Davison Rd., Lapeer, at 7 p.m. on March 29 to have a rocking time and help raise money for this year’s People to people fundraiser.
So, what is People to People? Every year, several groups of students throughout America are chosen to travel the world as Student Ambassadors of the People to People Program, which was initially created by Dwight D. Eisenhower on September 11, 1956. Eisenhower’s goal was to connect with other nations and create peace among all people for current and future generations.

This June, a group of young Ambassadors will be going to Australia as part of this program, including two students from Lapeer: Joshua and Ashleigh Simmonds. While they are away, they will do many amazing things to widen their education about the
world, such as learn the customs of the Aboriginal People, donate supplies to schools, stay with an Australian family, and get a dose of Australian life by working on farms, eating Australian delicacies, learn new skills, and attending school if the host family has children.
Deb Barber, owner of L.I.V.E., member of Untamed Beauty, and local music teacher, is generously allowing the event to be held at her studio. Barber also teaches Joshua, a drummer, and Ashleigh, a guitar player, who will perform in the show, along with many other students. There will be numerous bands of talented teens, and even a rock band made up of teachers from Zemmer Middle School!
Tickets are $5 per person and will be sold at the door. For more information, please contact Deb Barber at 702-334-2381. Come enjoy live music for a good cause!
