Save the Date: Lapeer Spring Expo coming to Lapeer East April 27

From the Lapeer Area Chamber of Commerce:

On Sunday, April 27, Lapeer East High School will open its doors for a FREE fun-filled family day — The Lapeer Spring Expo. The event will bring local businesses face-to-face with the community offering them opportunities to promote their business directly to the consumer. In addition the event will include a variety of fun activities for the family. The event will begin at 11 a.m.

The event is family friendly! Children will enjoy FREE balloon animals by Oopsy the Clown and FREE face painting by Miss Sprinkles. The event will also include entertainment demonstrations by Tir Na N’og Gaelic dancers, Korean Martial Arts Institute Tae Kwon-Do, Zumba Mini Class and a Zumba Sentao/Step Demo! Genesee Valley Center is sponsoring a FREE photo booth at the event to capture the day with photos and FREE blood pressure checks by Acclaimed Home Care.

There will be free popcorn available, door prize drawings from each vendor and 50/50 drawings as well. These great additions to the event will help draw people in to meet the vendors and have fun while attending.

Vendors from local businesses will be on hand to demonstrate and promote their products and services to local residents. We invite any business in Lapeer to participate as a vendor. This is a great time of year to get involved in an event like this since it’s on the cusp of spring and summer. Seasonal businesses are prospecting for new business and retailers are seeing new product lines. Residents are eager to get out of the house and are beginning to think about sprucing up their homes, gardens, yards, and reviewing their financial investments, home improvements and new car purchases.

Lapeer Community Schools will be working on organizing a “Pizza Challenge” fund raiser for the new Lapeer High School Academic Booster Club! Local Chamber member restaurants who offer Pizza on their menu will be invited to participate in this challenge. Participating restaurants and Pizzeria’s will provide small samples of the same kind of pizza for event visitors. Vendors and event guests can sample each restaurants pizza for a small contribution to the Booster club and then cast their vote for the pizza earning first, second or third place. Plaques will be given to each of the top three placing restaurants to be proudly displayed in their business.

We’ve added an educational component called “Student Career Readiness Project.” This is a collaboration with Lapeer Community Schools and will be structured to offer Junior and Senior High School students the experience of interacting with area businesses, creating a resume, completing job applications etc. Students will receive credit for completing the project in addition to the experience of meeting and speaking directly to a number of local businesses.

We’re offering vendor space fees as low as possible to make it affordable for the smallest local business to participate. The vendor fee this year includes an ad in the half page schedule for the event, in the County Press.

The event will feature Chamber member businesses as well as non-member businesses from around the county. We’re very excited and want to see it grow and become one of Lapeer’s largest community events.

For information about vendor space or your group offering a demonstration at the event please contact the Lapeer Area Chamber of Commerce at 810-664-6641 or go to www.lapeerareachamber.org for a vendor form. Space is limited so please contact us as soon as possible! See you at the Lapeer Community Spring Expo!
