Parents —
On Tuesday, May 17, we were alerted to a verbal threat made against the Rolland-Warner 6-7 Campus. In coordination with our school resource officer and members of local law enforcement, an investigation was undertaken immediately and the parents of the student were notified. The threat was not to any specific student or staff member.
At this time, the conclusion of law enforcement and school administration is that the threat is not credible.
We are grateful for the individual who reported the threat so that we could do a prompt investigation with the support of law enforcement.
As is our normal practice when we have been alerted to a threat, we will have an added police presence in and around the building on Wednesday to ensure students and staff feel safe.
In circumstances like these, it is our duty to keep you informed and confident that the safety of our schools is our top priority. It is not our desire to cause any undue stress, but to reassure you that we take all threats seriously.
Regards,
Jared Field – LCS Director of Communications
