Parents —
We want to notify you that the District has recently been made aware of a written threat made against several students and staff at the Rolland-Warner 6-7 Campus. We have been assured by local law enforcement that there is no active threat to the school and at no point were any students or staff in danger. Rest assured that the individual directly associated with the threat will not be present at school on Friday and that everyone associated with the threat is being contacted.
We will not tolerate threats of any kind and expect all students to choose their words carefully. Threats are not jokes.
Please know that the safety and security of our students and staff is, and always has been, our highest priority. We have taken all the steps necessary to ensure a safe and secure environment. As a District, we will continue to coordinate efforts with local law enforcement to ensure the safety of our school and community. In addition, we want to encourage all parents to monitor their children’s communications to ensure they are appropriate.
We ask that you respect those involved by refraining from disseminating unsubstantiated information through social media or any other outlet.
Regards,
Matt Wandrie
Superintendent
Lapeer Community Schools
Why haven’t the parent of those attending this school been notified by email, text, voice mail whatever….do you expect to get the word out by some social media group? I am pissed.
