Lapeer High School to Host Third Annual Opportunity Night

LAPEER, Michigan — Lapeer High School will host its third annual Opportunity Night on January 14, 2019 from 5:30 – 8 p.m. This is a great chance for students and parents to learn about the wide range of opportunities available across the District.

“This is a vitally important night for anyone interested in creating a plan for their student’s academic future,” said Jan Ciaramella, the District’s lead counselor for grades 6-12. “Matching your interests and talents with the available resources of the District is paramount, and we want to make those connections early on.”

It is never too early to plan for the future, and Opportunity Night provides a forum for all parents and students to gather information prior to making decisions about what comes next after high school. Representatives from numerous colleges and universities as well as the Armed Services will be on hand to answer questions.

This event also includes on-site training for anyone interested in completing the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).

In addition, representatives from numerous clubs and organizations connected to Lapeer High School will be stationed in the cafeteria.

“This event really represents the best of Lapeer Community Schools,” said LCS Superintendent Matt Wandrie. “Every year we have people attend this event and leave blown away at what the District has to offer. There has never been a better time to be a student in Lapeer Community Schools.”
