Snow Day Make-Up Information
Michigan law allows school districts to count six days or equivalent hours of “forgiven” time toward the day and hour requirements when school is canceled due to reasons such as bad weather. This school year, we experienced eight cancellations for students on the traditional calendar and seven for students on the year-round calendar. Fortunately, we have days built into our calendars to help offset two days beyond the first six. April 2 (the Monday after Easter) and May 25 will now be scheduled days of instruction for students and staff on the traditional calendar. May 4 will be a scheduled day of instruction for students and staff on the year-round calendar. The year-round calendar has one additional day (May 25) built-in if necessary.
Please be aware that any additional days will be added to the end of the school year in order to be in compliance with state requirements for instructional days, unless we are otherwise approved for a waiver from the Michigan Department of Education.
