Michigan law allows districts to count six days or equivalent hours of “forgiven” time toward the day and hour requirements when school is canceled due to reasons such as bad weather. We have used seven snow days so far this school year.
Fortunately, we have a couple days built into our schedule to deal with this situation. April 2 (the Monday after Easter) will now be a scheduled day of instruction for students and staff on the TRADITIONAL calendar. May 4 will be a scheduled day of instruction for students and staff on the YEAR-ROUND calendar.
