At this past weekend’s qualifier, 32 teams descended on Kettering University in Flint to try and advance to the State Championships, which will be held in Battle Creek December 16-17.

Our two Lapeer teams comprised of 6-8th grade students from Rolland Warner and Zemmer finished the qualification rounds as the top two seeds.

With Mechanical Mayhem (#7138) as the first place team, they asked Twisted Metal (#8935), the second place team, to join in an alliance. They also choose Brandon Tech to fill out the 3-team alliance.
The teams played off in a best of three format and won the semifinal matches in two games.  The alliance then moved on to the Finals and won two games.
The performance allowed both Lapeer teams to advance to the State Championships later this month. Great job, students!
