LHS senior Sean Bopra, one of region’s best soccer players, signs with Aquinas

LAPEER, Michigan — Lapeer High School senior Sean Bopra, one of the most decorated footballers in the area, signed with Aquinas this after in a ceremony attended by friends and family. Aquinas College, in Grand Rapids, competes in the WHAC and is coached by Joe Veal.

Bopra, who was voted the MVP for the Saginaw Valley Conference as a senior, earned first team all-district honors all three years on varsity. He captained the team as a junior and senior, earned team MVP award and all-state honorable mention both seasons.

Bopra turned in an impressive performance this season against state powerhouse Flint Powers, as the Lightning handed Powers its first loss in 26 games.
