Agenda for Tuesday’s Innovation Night: DEEP Focus

innovation nightsThe community is invited to attend the second LCS Innovation Night Tuesday January 28, 2014 in the Lapeer East Auditorium.  It will be a great opportunity to hear about the exciting new programming in LCS for the 2014-15 school year.  Students are requesting their classes for the fall throughout February, and this is an important time for parents to be informed of their children’s options for their education.

What’s new??

  • Center for Innovation at the West Campus
  • 16 Advanced Placement Courses offered
  • 13 DEEP Dual Enrollment Programs offered in Lapeer, through three local colleges
  • SpringBoard English for 6th through 10th graders:  Advanced English in preparation for AP
  • Extended Day for Academic Advancement
  • LCHAMP partnership for advanced math students though MSU
  • Project Lead the Way (PLTW) STEM program for students with special interest in math and science
  • Honors Choir and Wind Ensemble
  • LCS Robotics
  • Year-round Middle School and Elementary options

Tuesday’s Agenda

5:30-5:45PM:  Parents and students arrive at East High School, parking in both north and south lots.

6:00PM:  Auditorium

Principals welcome and present new programs

6:30PM:  Breakout session I

7:15PM:  Breakout session II

Maps and guides will be available.  The colleges will be stationed in the following rooms

Room F-50:  University of Michigan-Flint Humanities Program

Room F-51:  University of Michigan-Flint Business Program

Room G-60:  Baker College

Computer Technology, Engineering Technology and Health Programs

Room I-71:  Mott Community College

Business, Computer Technology, Criminal Justice, and Health Programs

Media Center:  Advanced Placement (AP)
