West High School hosted 40 students from both East and West this morning. The students took part in a leadership symposium with Ted Wiese.

This morning, students from Lapeer East and West High Schools came together to discuss proactive ways to ease the transition to one high school this fall. The students listened to and interacted with Ted Wiese, nationally-acclaimed speaker on student leadership, to discover how they can play a vital role in shaping the future of Lapeer High School.

In September, Lapeer will be home to one high school for the first time in nearly 40 years. Lapeer High School will be housed at what is now the East High School campus. The West Campus will become the District’s Center for Innovation, housing numerous academic programs including DEEP Dual Enrollment, Project Lead the Way (STEM) and virtual learning.

Wiese works with thousands of students every year to teach and enhance their leadership skills.  Ted is in the business of making students believe they can make a difference – and he teaches them how to do it!  From starting his career with Junior Achievement to establishing Wiese Training and Development, LLC, Ted’s dynamic and engaging programs have gained him a strong reputation for delivering results.
