Screen Shot 2013-11-11 at 10.28.29 AMLAPEER, Michigan – The Lapeer District Library’s Marguerite deAngeli Branch, 921 W. Nepessing Street, with the help of many Lapeer residents, collected over 750 personal hygiene items and cleaning supplies for those in need in our community for “Make A Difference Day: the National Day of Doing Good” which took place on October 26, 2013. These items included over 150 toothbrushes, 100 tubes of toothpaste, 50 laundry and cleaning items, 175 personal care items, and many paper products and bath items.

This is the third year the library has collected for “Make a Difference Day” and the generosity of the Lapeer community came shining through. The library received more donations this year than ever before, including a generous donation from Schickler Elementary School, whose students and staff collected items to donate to the library.

These items will be given to the Lapeer County Department of Human Services’ Community Resource Coordinator, Dianne Williams, who will disperse them to needy families in our area.

“We can’t wait to do it again next year!” states Laura Fromwiller, the library’s reference librarian, who coordinated the collection.
