Lapeer Outdoor Club receives $3,500 donation from Whitetails Unlimited Lapeer Chapter

archerJeremy Keefer with the Lapeer Chapter of Whitetails Unlimited recently presented The Lapeer Outdoor Club at Rolland-Warner with a check for $3,500. Keefer was very pleased with how Rolland-Warner spent last year’s gift of $3,400 in an effort to start the DNR sponsored program “Archery in the Classroom.”

The director of the Outdoor Club, Mike Wiltse, was very grateful for the donation and said the club will use the money to pay for equipment as it wears down.

“Our first year exceeded my expectations as we have over 60 students in our Archery Club and approximately 20% of our student body has participated in archery during this school year,” he said.

Wiltse added that the staff at Rolland-Warner have made a commitment to the program, noting that six staff members have completed the Archery in the Classroom instructor program on their own time this year.

Thank you Whitetails Unlimited for your support!
