Lapeer West High School is honored to host the Michigan Art Education Association 2012-13 Governor’s Traveling Art Show and Michigan Youth Art Festival State Top 18 High School Exhibition. It is currently on display in the West Media Center during school hours through February 23, 2013.

West art instructor Amy Linton said the school is honored to host the show because of the great work of 2012 graduate Courtney Gilbert. She placed in the Top 18 in the state of Michigan with her piece (above) entitled “Anger.” Courtney created a drawing of her horse in colored pencil. This exhibit has been traveling around the state for one full year. It’s next stop will be Caledonia High School near Grand Rapids.

Please feel free to visit the West Media Center during school hours to view this exceptional student art work.
