Sherwin Williams, a painting and paint supply corporation with a storefront in downtown Lapeer, recently donated the paint supplies for a makeover of Zemmer Middle School’s CILC sensory/stress-release room. The project began over Christmas break and the results are tremendous (as you can see).

Lisa Yderstad and a team of helpers finished the project last Friday, just in time for school on Monday.

Sensory rooms are tailored to the needs of students with neurological impairments to stimulate, calm and focus. There’s actually science behind the paint scheme, as all people respond differently to different colors and color schemes.

Lisa, her team and the Lapeer Community Schools wish to thank Sherwin Williams Corporation and local store manager Ken Palmer for their generous offer to support our students. We appreciate it!

We also want to thank the CILC team at Zemmer for all their hard work. You guys are awesome!
