Earlier this month, Karen Rykhus from the Lapeer Goodfellows met with the eighth grade  Service Learning class at Rolland-Warner to discuss the upcoming Goodfellows Canned Food Drive. Rhykus gave a quick history lesson on the Goodfellows, who have been helping Lapeer families since the 1920s.

This year, with the help of Lapeer schools, the Goodfellows hope to help out 100 families in the area.  The canned food drive will be held at Rolland-Warner from November 26th through December 11th.  The Goodefellows are asking for canned foods as well as any other non-perishable food items.  If any community member would like to donate to the program, they can drop off goods in the main office any time before December 11th.

The schools goal is to collect over 800 items.
