Last month, Maple Grove Elementary held its first ever Math Night. Over 50 students and their parents participated in the fun family event. While dining in the cafeteria, students were challenged to correctly estimate items in Jars. The students with the closest estimate took the items home the next day. When dinner was over, students and their parents rotated through four stations that used math in fun ways.
At PE math, students measured how long they could jump. During the Corn Toss, the friendly competition continued to see who could reach 15 first. When students were snacking on Chex Mix, they were also graphing the amount of items in the mix. Math facts and knowledge were tested in a trivia contest.
The fun-filled evening received rave reviews from everyone involved.
