The Michigan Art Education Association (MAEA) Region 10 art exhibit is currently being held at Gallery 194 in downtown Lapeer. Artwork from elementary through high school students from Lapeer and Genesee counties are on display, including artwork from students K-12 who attend Lapeer Community Schools. The exhibit runs until Saturday, March 4. Gallery hours are Tuesday – Saturday, 12pm – 6pm.
A handful of elementary students from Murphy Elementary and Lynch Elementary received special recognition:
Tanner Howell’s (Murphy) pastel drawing of leaves was selected as one of the Top 18 elementary pieces in the entire state of Michigan. As a result, it will be on exhibit at the Downtown Ann Arbor District Library from March 4 until May 6.

Emma Huff’s (Lynch) foil tooling artwork (below) was selected as one of the Top 100 elementary pieces in the entire state of Michigan. As a result, it will be on exhibit at the Downtown Ann Arbor District Library from March 4 until May 6.

Olivia Seitz’s (Lynch) oil pastel cubist drawing of leaves (below) was selected to be a part of a year long art exhibit at the Michigan Department of Education from May 2023 – May 2024.

Layla Harris’s (Lynch) pastel drawing of pumpkins (below) was selected to be a part of a year long art exhibit at the Michigan Department of Education from May 2023 – May 2024.
