October is Rett Syndrome Awareness Month

Maylee is a kindergarten student at Murphy Elementary with Rett Syndrome. Rett syndrome is a rare genetic neurological disorder that affects 1 in 10,000 females (and even more rare in males). Maylee uses an eye gaze device to communicate and she loves being around all the students at Murphy!

To celebrate Maylee and Rett Awareness Month, Murphy will be having two special days! All money raised will go to the International Rett Syndrome Foundation.

Tuesday, October 25th: HAT DAY!! Pay $1 to wear a hat all day

Wednesday, October 26th: Purple Out Day! Everyone wears purple for Rett Awareness. If you would like a purple Rett Awareness shirt, see the link below.
