As you may have heard by now, a small percentage of homes in the City of Lapeer have recently shown elevated levels of lead in water samples conducted by the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services (MDHHS). The elevated lead levels were found in homes that are serviced by either lead or galvanized water services lines.
Fortunately, the water lines serving our schools are not lead or galvanized and thus do not pose any risk to students or staff. We have confirmed this information with the City of Lapeer. We are not under any restrictions whatsoever. The water is perfectly safe and our schools will continue to operate as normal.
For more information, please see the most recent news release from the City of Lapeer.
Have a great weekend!
