As you know, our neighbors in the Oxford Community School District were the victims of an unimaginable tragedy on Tuesday afternoon. As a school community, we stand in solidarity with Oxford and will support them in any capacity we can. We know that many people in our district have friends and family who have been impacted by this tragedy, and we are here to support them as well. 

Moving forward, we will redouble our efforts as a district to ensure the safety of students and staff. Further, we must continue to look after one another every day — this is even more vital during times of uncertainty and fear. 

For our students, we say this all the time but it bears repeating: If you see something suspicious, please let an adult know immediately. If you know of a student who needs help coping with a loss or any emotional hardship, offer them an encouraging word or put them in touch with someone who can help.

For our parents, please continue to be active in the lives of students. Always know that if you need social or emotional support for your child, we are here to help. 

Finally, let us honor the memories of the lives that were lost by supporting those left trying to explain the unexplainable. 

Together, as a school community, we pray for the peace and comfort of all who grieve.
