On Monday, November 8, we were made aware of a report about a possible weapon in a student’s vehicle in the parking lot at the Center for Innovation. District officials, assisted by the City of Lapeer Police Department, quickly gained access to the vehicle and found a weapon in the trunk. Police determined that there was no credible threat of violence. The weapon is now in the possession of the police and the student is no longer at school while the incident is under further investigation.
