Lapeer Community Schools Board of Education Trustee Lisa Schultz was appointed as treasurer Hadley Township this week. Because of this appointment, she was required to submit her resignation from the LCS Board of Education, effective immediately.
In her short tenure on the Board, Lisa’s skills, experience and positive attitude were incredible assets to our school community. She will be missed by all of us, and we wish her the best in her new endeavor.
By law, the Board of Education must fill the new vacancy by appointment. The new member will complete the remainder of Lisa’s term, which ends December 31, 2022. The seat will be placed on the ballot in the November 2022 election, for a six-year term.
Anyone interested in being considered by the Board for this appointment, must do so in writing to Summer Putnam, Board President, at sputnam@lapeerschools.org by noon on June 25. Interested persons should be prepared to have their candidacy evaluated in-person (unless a request is made for a private interview) at the June 30 regular board meeting. Board members will discuss the candidates in public and will make their determination at that meeting. The new member will be sworn in at that time.
E-mail questions to Jared Field, LCS Director of Communications, at jfield@lapeerschools.org.
