It took a lot of prodding and perseverance, but the District ultimately found the right person for the job. We are excited to welcome Mr. Dayonte Grimes to the Lightning family. Dayonte will serve in the role of CTE & Work-Based Program Supervisor, providing oversight and instruction in programs funded by the Marshall Plan Grant.
He will have space at both Lapeer High School (just adjacent to the cafeteria) and at the Administration Building. He will work closely with the District’s STEM Coordinator, Jaime Hofert.
Mr. Grimes has wide array of skills, certifications and experience that will take our career and technical programs to the next level. He has extensive experience in robotics, including vision systems programming. He has worked with a variety of programmable logic controllers and robot platforms including more than 6,000 hours of experience in advanced automation. Mr. Grimes, who most recently worked at Henshaw Custom Automation in Romeo, has earned numerous state and national certifications.
He is married with two children and has recently purchased a home in Lapeer. If you or your student has any interest in career and technical education, you should know his name.
