As we prepare for the start of winter, it is important that we are all on the same page with regard to inclement weather days. Like nearly everything else in our lives these days, the process by which we cancel school for weather has been complicated by the COVID-19 pandemic. Currently, more than half of our students and staff are participating in fully remote instruction. In the interim (at least until December 8), a school day canceled due to inclement weather would apply to all students, whether face-to-face or remote.
If the District were to revert to fully remote instruction for all students, we would revisit how we handle weather cancellations at that time.
Reminder: When schools are closed, we publish information online via School Messenger, social media and in an e-mail to all staff. Information regarding evening activities is generally sent out by 1 p.m., though these days our list of activities is very short.
