Lapeer High School senior Phillip Eickhoff selected to perform at MYAF Honors Concert

Phillip Eickhoff, a senior trombonist at Lapeer High School, has been selected to play lead trombone in the Michigan Youth Arts Festival Jazz Band. This is an incredible accomplishment for a young musician.

The performance will be part of the Honors Concert on May 11, at Western Michigan University. The concert, which begins at 2:30 p.m. in the Miller Auditorium, will conclude the three day festival, showcasing the top student musicians in Michigan.

Phillip earned the spot in the Honors Concert as a result of his exceptional Jazz Solo performed with the LHS Jazz Band at State Jazz Festival in March.

“Phillip has had an extraordinary year,” said LHS Band Director Dan Hundt. “He earned membership in the Allstate High School Band in January, and now the MYAF Jazz Band.”

Phillip will attend Michigan State in the fall as a Music Major.
