LAPEER, Michigan – At Thursday’s Regular meeting, the Lapeer Community Schools Board of Education unanimously approved a two-year contract with the Lapeer Education Association (LEA), the union representing the District’s more than 270 teachers. The new contract will be in effect starting July 1, 2018 after the current contract expires.
“We are very proud to have come to an agreement at such an early stage,” said LCS Superintendent Matt Wandrie. “This outcome reflects a very healthy process of good faith bargaining that we are confident has the best interests of the entire organization at heart.”
The new agreement contains base salary increases for members of between one half and one percent in both years. In addition, the contract contains language supporting flexible instructional delivery options in the future.
The contract will be posted in its entirety on the District website.
