Lynch Elementary duo team up with Optimists to get water filling station at school

thumbnail_Lynch STEM Elementary logo v3Two enterprising 5th graders at Lynch Elementary, Ava Waun and Alexis Norman, recently presented an idea to the Optimist Club of Lapeer to replace their school’s broken water fountain. Because of their effort, and the generosity of the Optimists, the school now has a brand new combination water fountain and water bottle filling station.
The students first presented to their principal, Ryan West, who approved the project. The students then took their idea to the Optimists at their monthly meeting. The Optimist Club donated the filling station and it was installed last week.
In just one week’s time, the new water station has filled 375 bottles of water. Those bottles can be used over and over again without any waste. Way to go, students! And thanks, as always, to the Lapeer Optimists!
