July 25: Break out your gaming skills at ROBO-CON

LAPEER, Michigan – Kick up your gaming skills a notch by maneuvering full-size robots on robotics fields at ROBO-CON, slated for 10 a.m. – 7 p.m. July 25 at the Center for Innovation on the Lapeer West campus, 170 Millville Road, Lapeer.

There’s no admission fee for the event, where participants can get a firsthand glimpse at real Michigan State Police Bomb Squad and commercial robots, or challenge student-built bots. Kids can experience hands-on STEM learning with the Michigan Science Center of Detroit’s Traveling Science team, or spend the day with a table full of Snap Circuits.

Wear your geekiest costume for a chance to win a prize. Take selfies with the “Lost in Space” B9 robot and enter drawings to win a Belle Tire gift card or other great prizes. Woodchips BBQ of Lapeer will be selling food on site.

ROBO-CON is hosted by the Chimeras Lapeer Robotics Team 1684, with the support of Cypress Integration Solutions, Lapeer Community Schools, and other local robotics teams.
