Lapeer High School’s involvement in the Advanced Placement Program has gone to a different level with the news that two of its AP teachers have been invited to serve as AP Exam Readers for the 2015 examinations to be given in May. Readers are AP teachers and college faculty who evaluate and score the free-response sections of the AP Exams. Being invited to read the exams is a mark of prestige and honor extended to very qualified university professors and AP teachers. The readings take place at different locations in the United States in June.
Sommer Schons has been invited to read the exams in AP Psychology. Schons has taught AP Psychology since 2008.
Bill Spruytte has been invited to read the exams in AP Seminar, the preliminary course in the College Board’s AP Capstone program. Spruytte has also been invited by the Educational Testing Service to serve on a committee to set the scoring standards for the exams.
