Students and staff filled the gym at Zemmer Middle School today to celebrate the school’s participation in the third annual Dodgeball for Diabetes. All told, the students raised $700 for the JDRF (Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation).

Kathy Finneran, representing JDRF, told the students about all the ways the organization supports young people and funds research that, hopefully, will lead to a cure.

“Your hard work didn’t go unnoticed,” she told the students. “We are very proud of your school and we thank you very much for working hard for JDRF.”

After a couple great performances by the school’s award-winning band, a couple teams of students were able to compete against staff members in a couple shorts games of dodgeball. The students dominated.

A special thanks to Patrick Lothrop, Anthony Jackson, Russ Reitz and everyone at Zemmer who helped put this together.
