Former Lapeer West High School standout golfer Chet Ryeson didn’t waste any time making a name for himself at Rochester (MI) College. Ryeson, who just last spring was going low for the Panthers, turned in a record-setting performance in his first tournament as a collegiate in Wauseon, Ohio.
Freshman Chet Ryeson made his collegiate debut with a splash as he finished the day as the tournament medalist shooting a 68, leaving him four under par. Ryeson’s performance was one for the record books as he shot the tournament record at Ironwood Golf Course in Ohio. He also left his mark in the RC record books as he now holds the record for the “Best 18-Hole Score” and tied the record for “Best 9-Hole Score” with a 33. Powered by the freshman’s record-setting day the men took fifth place with a team score of 310.
Way to go Chet!!
