Nearly 40 of Lapeer Community Schools’ Michigan Future Problem Solvers enjoyed a terrific weekend at the MFPS State Bowl held at Michigan State University April 13-14. Both the Rolland-Warner Middle School Club and Zemmer Club walked away feeling success.
A team of fifth graders representing the Zemmer Club from Mayfield Elementary, Aryanna Thompson, Randi Bray and Schickler Elementary, Kasey Deschler took home third place in the state for their Future Problem Solving Global Issues booklet. A Rolland-Warner Club team of fifth graders from Murphy, Vanessa Sheatzley, Ireland Betzold, Miranda Marra and Gabrielle Polzin enjoyed receiving recognition for their semi-final round booklet.
Their coach, Mr. Larzelere-Kellermann, received an outstanding lifetime leadership award for his 25 years of participating in the Future Problem Solving Program.
