Acclaimed Young Adult author Tracy Bilen visited students at East and West High Schools Friday to speak to them about the ups and downs of being an author.
Bilen, who most recently penned What She Left Behind, presented to students at West in the media center Friday morning during second and third hours. Students, many of whom read the book, were given the opportunity to ask questions about its characters and plot twists. They also learned many important facets of the writing process including finding agents, editors and mentors in order to write the best book you’re capable of writing.
Bilen, who lives in Michigan, is a high school French and Spanish teacher. She studied at the Sorbonne in Paris and taught English in Strasbourg, France.
Thank you for visiting Lapeer Community Schools!
