The following is a press release created by 8th grade students at Rolland-Warner Middle School
Rise of the colors at Rolland-Warner
Mr. Sweeney’s 8th grade Service Learning Class at Rolland-Warner is giving back to the community. From December 5th through January 16th, we will be starting a project called, Colors for Causes. We are going to help out the community by raising money to donate to the different causes by selling Jolly Ranchers for a quarter at 6th, 7th, and 8th grade lunches. Students can wear the designated color to show awareness of the causes and/or they can buy a Jolly Rancher. At the end of January 16th, the money will be divided up between the four causes equally.
• December 5th- wear purple to support Wounded Soldiers. • December 12th- wear pink to support Breast Cancer. • December 19th- wear blue to show support against Child Abuse. • January 9th- Wear red to show support against Animal Abuse. • January 16th- Donate to any cause. Our goal is to raise over $400.
