Rolland-Warner teachers bring salmon into science classes

DuAnne Cook and Maja Burris at Wolf Lake in Mattawan.

Mike Wiltse, Maja Burris and DuAnne Cook traveled to the Wolf Lake Fish Hatchery in Mattawan, Michigan recently for curriculum training and to pick-up a special delivery of Chinook Salmon eggs.  They received approximately 200 eggs for each of the school’s two classrooms that will raise and place the smolt (young salmon) in a Great Lakes tributary in May.

What an awesome way to bring science to life for our students!
