Flint-born author pays visit to Lapeer Community High School

Patrick Jones spoke to students in Bill O’Bryan’s English classes at Community High School on Monday.

Flint-born author Patrick Jones spent a few hours this past Monday morning with students at Lapeer Community High School. Jones worked with students in Bill O’Bryan’s English classes on the writing process. He engaged in conversation about the books he has authored, including those the students have already read in class.

Jones, a former librarian for teenagers, is noted as a writer of fiction tailored to young adults and has won many awards. Jones, who was born in Flint, now resides in Minneapolis.

Jones is the second author to visit an LCS school in as many weeks. Last Thursday, noted author of children’s books, Johnathan Rand, visited intersession students at Turrill Elementary.
