August 24: K-12 team members to participate in Rapid Response Training

As part of an ongoing effort to focus on student safety, on Friday, August 24, members of the Lapeer Community Schools K-12 Team will have the unique opportunity to participate in an active shooter training event (Rapid Response) at Lapeer East High School.

This important training is made possible thanks to a cooperative effort between Lapeer Community Schools and several local police agencies.

“As a district, we are very fortunate to be able to offer this important training to school employees,” said LCS Superintendent Matt Wandrie. “We have a tremendous working relationship with local law enforcement agencies that share our goal of maintaining the safest possible schools for our students.”

The event will be video recorded and serve as a training tool for future district-wide and building professional development.

The training will begin at 9 a.m. and is open to K-12 only.
