On July 31, 2012, hundreds gathered at Turrill Elementary in Lapeer to celebrate the grand re-opening of Lapeer Community Schools’ new year-round elementary school. LCS Superintendent Matt Wandrie thanked everyone who played a role in making this new option for families possible.
After the ribbon-cutting ceremony, parents and students took part in an open house where they could visit classrooms and meet their teachers.

The first day of school is August 1.
