Tuesday afternoon, sixth graders in Ms. Reinart’s art class came together to send out a special thanks to Home Depot in Lapeer for its generous donation to the school’s burgeoning Bee Club.

Home Depot donated the supplies used to paint the club’s hives. Jill Duhl and Daniel Kennedy, representing Team Depot, received a large “Thank You” sign and their own bottle of Rolland-Warner-made honey.

The Bee Club, thanks in part to generous donors like Home Depot, will be putting new bees in four additional hives this afternoon (increasing its total number of hives from two to six). We’ll have more on that later, including some great news about a feature story on the club that was published recently in the American Bee Journal.

The club continues to expand thanks to the hard work of students, club founder Mike Wiltse and many volunteers and donors. It is already unique among clubs of its kind statewide.

Keep up the great work!
