On April 13, 86 band and choir students from Lapeer West High school travelled to Chicago for band and choir clinics at VanderCook College of Music. VanderCook is a college that specializes in music education and offers degrees for students who plan to pursue careers in music education. They also had the opportunity to experience some of the museums, parks and culture of the windy city.
Their trip itinerary included; The Museum of Science and Industry, The Field Museum, The John. Hancock Observatory, Millennium Park including the iconic “bean sculpture”, Buckingham Fountain, The Magnificent Mile, The Hard Rock Café, A performance at “Comedy Sports” a live comedy show and a performance by “The Blue Man Group”.
Students, chaperones and trip sponsors had a fantastic time and returned safely Sunday evening.
