Last week, band students from Rolland-Warner Middle School had the opportunity to see the Detroit Symphony Orchestra perform live. The students traveled to Orchestra Hall as part of the Educational Concert Series offered by the DSO for students grades K-8.
The concert gave students the opportunity to hear professional musicians performing works by Tchaichovsky, Dvorak, Stravinsky and Britten. The field trip was supported through a $500 “Trek Grant” from the Michigan Youth Arts and the Michigan Council of Arts and affairs. Mrs. Hundt and the Rolland-Warner 7th Grade band would like to thank them for their support in providing this opportunity.
