The sixth graders at Zemmer Middle School are turning the page on another major mile marker. The students have collectively read a whopping 2,920 books through two trimesters. And, in case you’re wondering, that’s nearly 500,000 pages worth!
Zemmer is home to 215 sixth graders, so that equates to an average of 2,200 pages and nearly 14 books per student! That tally doesn’t even include reading done in other classes, it is only a count of ELA and pleasure reading since September.
Zemmer Principal Matt Olson says the goal of the class is to hit 20 books per student by the end of the school year.
Great job guys!
