Even though the start of the 2012-13 school year is still many months away, now is the time for the District’s current 5th graders to set their sights on middle school. To facilitate this important transition from the elementary level, both Zemmer Middle School and Rolland-Warner Middle School will be holding orientations in March.
Zemmer Principal Matt Olson understands the importance of getting an early start on the move to middle school to ensure students and parents are comfortable with the next step.
“This is just the first step in the process, but it is an important one for students and their families,” Olson said. “We want them to be excited about becoming a part of our middle schools,”
Rolland-Warner and Zemmer will hold orientations on consecutive days (March 12-13) to ensure all parents have access to the information.
During the first week in March, counselors from Zemmer and Rolland-Warner will be visiting LCS elementary schools to begin scheduling discussions with future students. Course catalogues and scheduling sheets will also be sent home at this time.
