First annual Cheer Lapeer competition a huge success

More than 250 spectators came out for the first annual Cheer Lapeer competition on Tuesday night at Rolland-Warner Middle School.

The Zemmer Middle School team placed 5th and the Rolland-Warner team placed 7th overall in the competition.  Way to go Lapeer!

The event was the culmination of a great deal of collaboration on the part of our two middle schools. Nine teams competed in Cheer Lapeer including Kearsley, Clio, Fenton, Imlay City, Perry, Algonac and Linden.

A special thanks goes out to the following folks: Naomi Peck (Zemmer Middle School volunteer coach), both East and West competitive cheer teams, Lapeer East High School Competitive Cheer team and coach, Paula Dewrock, Dave Peasley and several other maintenance staff members, Don Nelson, Kyle Nelson, Kim Seifferly, Maja Burris, Michelle Mlecsko, Barb Bennett, Chris Ewald, Jan Hart and Jackie Deane.

This event would not have been possible without all their hard work.
