Sixth grade teachers at Zemmer Middle School have been tracking student reading throughout the first trimester and the early returns are impressive. During the first trimester alone sixth grade students (213 total) have read 1,336 books for a total of 263,904 pages. This, we must keep in mind, is student-chosen reading and doesn’t include required reading in other classes like math and science.
This school year, teachers and administrators are encouraging and supporting the students’ reading and tracking the reslts in ELA classrooms.
Great job to all. Keep those pages turning!
